    Description

    (2) ARGENTINA 1970 PNC ... 5-Centavos Coin with 20-Peso Stamp and 20-centavos Coin with 20-Peso Stamp
In the 1960's and 1970's, the 99 Company of California produced some very creative coin/stamp covers. Here are two that they produced in 1970 using Argentinian coins and stamps.
1970 5-centavos coin with 20-peso stamp. Capped Liberty head on the obverse of the coin - laurel branch on the reverse. The coin is made of aluminum. The 20-peso stamp honors the 100th anniversary of
    LA PRENSA,
    Buenos Aires' oldest daily newspaper.
1970 20-centavos coin with 20-peso stamp. The design of the coin is virtually identical to the design of the 5-centavos coin. However the metal content is different. This coin is a combination of aluminum and bronze. This 20-peso stamp honors a different Buenos Aires daily newspaper:
    LA NACION
    .
Both covers are in clean, nice condition. They are both postmarked on the release date for the coins: May 18, 1970. Both coins were issued as part of Argentina's new monetary system.
