Here is the newest Rick Hinderer Firetac straight from 2017 Blade Show in Atlanta GA. The Firetac is what started it all for Rick Hinderer in 2006 and was stopped in 2008. Firetac came first and then followed by the XM18 which became a huge hit due to the flipper feature. Well, about ten years later, Rick Hinderer decided to make a newer improved version of the knife that help start it for him. The specs are very close to be similar but there are very small things that make the fit and finish and overall design better. This is really an amazing model, and you really have to know what you are looking at in terms of function to fully appreciate this knife. For instance, it looks like there are three back-spacers and that's it. But if you really look at the function, the backspace closest to the pivot is also used as a stop pin used to stop the blade when it opens and closes. This option would not work if this was a flipper so was not able to be carried over to the XM18. There were not many of the Firetac model made as there were no production models as all of them were all hand ground and all custom hand made to current date. All the Firetac Rick Hinderer brought to the 2017 Blade Show are all Hand Ground customs and each a bit different from another from the grinds to handle color/options. This particular one has the Hollow Ground Spearpoint Working Finish with a fine V-Ground Edge. This has had a Textured Blue Twill with a Working Finish Titanium Liner/Lock Side Handle. This is a super rare one of a kind knife and you won't ever see one like it. This is a true "Grail Knife!" This has the custom Rick Hinderer logo lasered on the blade which is the newest logo. This is from the June 3 Rick Hinderer Lottery held on Saturday. This is a rare custom hand ground knife by Rick Hinderer with Smooth opening action, Solid lockup with a centered blade. This is Brand New: never used, carried or sharpened. This will come with a actual original Hinderer Box, Zip-lock baggie and tactical peanuts.
